Springtime at Noodin's Place

A Gathering Place ~ Coming of Age

Preparation for 2016

A place to provide cultural information to our neighbors and friends about the Native American Culture that has lived on this land for tens of thousands of years. Our offering is to share with others the beauty that we have found learning from Native American Elders.

Early March ~

Preparations were made for the beginning of gatherings for the Spring, Summer and Fall of 2016. Our fire keepers spent several days cleaning the area and re-tie the lodges. Initial ceremonies and gatherings were held to honor the land and the people.

We invite all people to come and join us at the fire and will be announcing gatherings soon.

The events that are planned will include activities for adults and young people that demonstrate the culture and the values of Native American Traditions. These gatherings are offered freely and donations are appreciated to carry on the work.

Honoring the Fire

All people of all ages are invited and welcome. A Family Event.

To honor all life, all Veterans and warriors, all people, and all those who are traveling to the next realm. Sit by the fire and share in the stories told by the Native American Elders and by the storytellers. Come and hear stories told to share the values that sustain a culture.

Storytelling

All people of all ages are invited and welcome. A Family Event.

The stories told by the Native American Elders and by the storytellers begin with a story of creation. Legends of the people are, in essence, the gathering of instructions that give the people structure to live by within a society. Come and hear stories told to share the values that sustain a culture.

Native American Talking Circle

All people of all ages are invited and welcome. A Family Event.

Talking Circles have been used by many indigenous cultures, particularly in the Native American traditions. A talking circle is a method used by a group to discuss a topic in an egalitarian and non-confrontational manner or to simply "check-in" about what is present for them in their lives. The group members sit in a circle and make comment on the topic of the discussion.

Fabric Crafting Program

All people of all ages are invited and welcome. A Family Event.

We will be offering various crafting programs through the summer. Leatherwork such as pouch making, moccasins and shakers. Drum making and flute making projects are also planned.

These programs will be offered to groups of five to eight people and the time and number of sessions will be posted as th classes are offered.

Fire Keepers Circle

 by invitation circle.

This gathering is for people dedicated to learning in depth teachings about the lodges, ceremony and Star teachings of the people.

Garden Maze

A meditation walk to find peace and centering within.

Three Sisters Garden

Gardening Native American Style ~ The garden was a success but we had some things to learn. In the spring we will again plant a Three Sisters Garden of corn, beans and squash. We will also have a separate garden for tobacco.

Four Legged Friends

We have a horse, four goats, two runner ducks, twenty two chickens, a dog and a cat that share this property with the people.
